Lightweight and High Strength
Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) materials have a relative density between 1.5 and 2.0, only 1/4 to 1/5 that of carbon steel, yet their tensile strength is close to, or even exceeds, that of carbon steel.  Their specific strength is comparable to high-grade alloy steel, and some epoxy FRPs can achieve tensile, bending, and compressive strengths of over 400 MPa. Therefore, using pultruded fiberglass profiles as the structural material for cooling towers significantly reduces the weight compared to steel structures, effectively reducing self-weight and lowering the load on the roof or foundation.


Excellent Corrosion Resistance
FRP is a corrosion-resistant material, offering good resistance to atmospheric conditions, water, and general concentrations of acids, alkalis, salts, and various oils and solvents. It has been applied in various aspects of chemical corrosion protection. Therefore, it is suitable for circulating water cooling towers in corrosive water or corrosive gas environments.


Excellent Insulation Properties
FRP is an insulating material. It maintains good dielectric properties even at high frequencies. It has good microwave transparency and has been widely used in radar radomes. Therefore, it can be safely used in areas with high lightning activity.
